I need your help to support your Language

Hi, friends, how are you?, I need your help to support your language in California Megamod.

I'm working on an application that will show you flags from different countries and allows you to change the language of the cheats menu with just one click. It is almost finished, i only need more language files. I currently have SPANISH, ENGLISH and i have tried to make a PORTUGUESE file using google translator. this was not too dificult because spanish and portuguese are similar languages, they have many words in common, or similar. But doing the same for other languages would be much harder, because sometimes google translator gives you wrong words. and not knowing a language makes it harder to be able to know which ones are wrong and which ones are right, the result could be a real useless mess. The best possible translations can only be made by native speakers of each language; And this is where you can help.

The cheats menu is one of the greatest features in California Megamod, UNRATED69 the original autor of the cheats menu, did a great job, and i've been editing and improving the script for the last 2 years, making it even better with a lot of new options, making it so powerful that nobody could live without it. The cheats menu now allows you to do almost anything, anytime, anywhere, you can spawn any vehicle, teleport to any location, replace the player model with any ped, get any weapon, get money, health, ammo, armour, etc. You can set stats, time, weather, wanted level, You can spawn friends, enemies, aliens, superheros,... fix your broken vehicle, flip it, make it undestructable, get Nitrous Oxide, make your vehicle fly or move in the water, make yourself inmortal, never get hungry, never get tired, never fall from bike, etc. and everything is done quickly and easily, without the need to remember and type a lot of codes.

As you already know the cheats menu in california megamod comes in spanish by default, and i published a patch to translate it into english for the California Megamod 3.0, and now i have to publish another one for the new version 3.1, but i would like to create a better system, not just replacing the .fxt file, i would like something more stylish and i would like to add support for several different languages for the cheats menu in California Megamod version 3.1 (and future versions). I think many of you would love the idea.

I currently have language files in SPANISH and ENGLISH for the cheats menu, i dont know more languages but i would like to support more languages, and it can be done with a little help from you, my friends.


The cheats menu is a CLEO script named cheats(F5).cs that uses a .TXT file renamed as cheats(F5).FXT with labels and all the words needed to show all options in the menu, each line in this file starts with an identification label and then a line of text that can be just a word or several words. All of these lines are used ingame to show on screen the options, instructions and confirmation messages in the cheats menu.

Currently CLEO only supports one .FXT file for each cleo script, it does not supports languages, but i had an idea to overcome this problem, i can make several copies of the cheats(F5).fxt file whith different names: ENGLISH_cheats(F5).fxt , SPANISH_cheats(F5).fxt , PORTUGUESE_cheats(F5).fxt , FRENCH_cheats(F5).fxt , ITALIAN_cheats(F5).fxt , etc. and then i can edit those files in notepad.exe to translate all the words to another language, and when i want to change the language of the cheats menu i only have to replace the current cheats(F5).fxt file in CLEO\CLEO_TEXT\ folder with a different file taken from the Languages folder where i stored all the translations. And so using this system i can give support to any language in the world if i have the files with the translated Texts. And this is where you can help me.

If you speak a language that it is not supported yet, for example french, and you want to help with the translation to your language, then you can download a copy of the cheats(F5).fxt file in spanish or in english, and then you can rename it to FRENCH_cheats(F5).txt and then you open the file using the windows NOTEPAD.EXE and start translating all the words to FRENCH language, and when finished, you save the file as FRENCH_cheats(F5).FXT , and then you upload the file to a free file storage server, like mediafire, dropbox, mega, etc. and then you copy the link for downloading the file and paste the link into a comment in the comments section of this page down below. so that i can download them and be able to add the new language to the CheatsMenu's language settings application.

Unfortunately I Can't pay you no money at all for your work, it would be a volunteer job, i have been working on this megamod for more than 8 years and nobody has ever paid me a single dime (and i never asked for), and currently i don't even have a job. I can only promess you to add the language file you send to the california megamod 3.1 and newer versions, you can delete my name and put your name in the heading comments at the very beggining of the file if you want credits for your work.

I would be very happy if someone could send me translations for at least the most important european languages like FRENCH, ITALIAN and GERMAN. Because with English, Spanish and Portuguese i already have enough languages to support all the countries from the American continent because most of them can speak spanish.

I dont know if there will be people from other continents that use to play the california megamod, and so i'm just thinking about America and Europe for a start, if you live somewhere else and you would like to send a file with the translation to support your language, then you will be welcome, no matter what country it is, everyone is welcome. Just make sure you don't forget to tell me what language it is and in what countries it is spoken, so that i can setup the right flags for the right countries.

When posting your contributions in the comments section below, please state clearly in each post which language you have made, so that other people can see it and avoid making translations for languages that are already done.

If you want to contribute with a new translation file then you will need to download one of these files (probably the ENGLISH one will be the best for you) to edit them in notepad.exe and translate all of the words into a new language (remember to rename the file with the name of the new language):

UPDATE:
While testing the new portuguese language in the game i have found a serious limitation that will be a problem when translating to some languages. CLEO only allows numbers and standard letters (from a to z and from 0 to 9), this means that it does not show on screen special characters like: ç Ç ñ Ñ à á â ä è é ê ë ì í î ï ò ó ô ö ù ú û ü
And so they must be replaced will standard letters like z Z n N a e i o u
Sadly it also means that some languages with a lot of special characters or with a totally different set of characters like russian, arabian, japan, chinese,... will never be able to be supported.

  1. Can you please change it back to ctrl X it was better that way also in the V 3.1 spawning the Marvel Heroes and a few others is still bugged it makes the game crash. Also the option to spawn groves is there but it's invisible (You can select the option but it doesn't have text) for some reason. Ps: Can you PLEASE re upload the GTA Vice City handling fix because the page (Rapishare) is no longer working. Thanks.

    1. i changed it to F5 because it is easier to remenmber, it was free to use it, its faster to press just 1 key instead of 2, and because when pressing CTRL cj trys to hit or shoot someone or something and sometimes it can be a problem, i wonder why you think is a problem to use F5, F6, F7 or F8, to open different screens of the cheatmenu. if there is a good reason i could change it to SHIFT+F5 (if it does not cause problems). The problem with the superheros is that there seem to be a diferent limitation in the number of peds that you can spawn in different mods that use a different main.scm, i think you can Spawn all of them without crashes in Crysis mod and maybe in HALO mod, but you need to use it with caution in cryme wars and wolverine mod, and avoid using it in other mods, i'm not sure right now which ones are safer than others, you need to test it to find out. but definitively there is at least one or more mods where you can spawn all of the heroes, (at least a lot of them) even repeated, without the game crashing, i have videos recorded using many superheroes at the same time and with a lot of enemys firing and choppers flying around and lot of explosions, without crashes. i will check the problem with some texts not showing in cheats menu and will fix it soon, thanks for reporting. That file got lost when rapidshare deleted it years ago, anyway you dont need any patch or fix if you download this one

    3. Wow thanks dude I did not know you had a second version of Vice City. The first one was great. Ill for sure be downloading that one thanks. Yeah I ask because I use a laptop and I have to keep pressing the "FN" button and F5 to activate but that's cool ill find a way to lock the FN button. I tried to change them myself but I keep getting an error when I press "Compile" it saves it in .TXT format instead of .cs. Also your mod in general does not crash it was just a few new options on the cheat menu that made it crash. A solution you can do is make a menu for each version of the game so that those options are only available in the versions of the game that it works on instead of having them all in the "BASE" folder. Any who if you ever want some ideas or my own files that I added to your mod ill be happy to help. (I made some mods that are compatible with your mod and use everything but add new features and feel completely different from each other.

    4. sanny builder saves the files in TXT with the SOURCE CODE so that you can edit it later, make changes, fix errors, ... but when you compile it saves a .cs file and if you selected the folder of gta san andreas to save the .cs then it will also copy the -cs to the cleo folder in your gta san andreas and it will also run the game if you pressed the compile and run button. by the way, the new .cs script format has 2 parts: the binary code at the top, and the listing at the bottom, and so it may fool you about thinking that it is just a TXT file.
      i'm curious, i would like to see your mods.

  2. Oh and a few mods in this game don't work anymore like GTA Zombies outbreak. The one where you start in the bar. I guess it's because it's an older mod and no longer works with the new updates. Any who everything else in this new mod is working flawless. It could still be improved but I guess everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Any who keep up the great work. Oh and if you can, please add some tutorials on how to edit cleos, radio music ect just so people can do them on their own without having to ask all the time.

    1. i will fix the zombies mods somehow, i'm not sure now what it the problem but i will found it and fix it. i'm starting to think that in the latest version of the modloader there are bugs related to priorities and they are causing some troubles in some mods that should work fine. i'm investigating this thing right now. to edit cleos you just need sannybuilder, and to edit sounds you need SAAT TOOLS (san andreas audio toolkit) i'll see if i can do a tutorial when i find time.

    2. Hi Starman, the problem with GTA Outbreak is because that mod needs a file called "Zombies.img", the crash is solved when you put that file in the "models" folder of the mod and it works fine. I've got that .img file from California Megamod 1.55, i hope that works for you too.

Thank you for replying I appreciate it also when I try to change the keys with Sanny builder it gives me an error when I click "Compile" it just saves it in .txt format not .cs any who I guess it's just by keyboard that's a bit strange. That would really be awesome if you did a tutorial it would be epic to add your own music without messing up the game xD Any who much respect for keeping these legendary games alive. If you want Ideas on more mods let me know I do edited a few of your folders with my own mods and they are working flawlessly. Of course I won't release then out of respect of the hard work of others but I'd sure love to see what you can do with them. I have one that compiles your previous mods with GTA SAMP and it works.

    4. I Fixed ZOMBIES MOD on 25 may 2016 (and i uploaded it today), but ZOMBIE OUTBREAK needs more work to get fixed. GTA San Andreas uses .ogg sound format for the radio stations, not mp3, and they are compressed or encoded inside streaming files (in Audio/streams folder) and so you need a special software (SAAT TOOLS) and some cmd commands or .bat files made by yourself to extract all the ogg files of each radio station, then you need to replace each song using the same frequency, bitrate, file format, and filename, and then use SAAT TOOLS with cmd commands to inject the new files back into the streaming file. your mods sound interesting, maybe you can upload and link to check them when i have some free time?

    1. thanks, mmm, it ask me to create a paying account just to see the content, i reccomend you diskokosmiko.mx its free and dont have limitations of any kind (size, space, time, speed, file format...) and they will not try to force you to upgrade to a paying account because they dont even have paying accounts, only free. they don't even have adds, its a truly free service, and it is fast in upload and download. mmm now that i look closer there is an option to test instead of paying in box, probably time limited, but it may be enough. oh never mind, i found the free account, its just they were showing the business plans and the free one is in personal plans.

    They are all tested and done in a way where all you have to do is drop in and play no need to mess around with files. I hope that you can use them in future versions of your Megamod and add to them since my coding skills is still a bit new but I am learning fast. Enjoy oh and also there are some mods that I just updated such as Hot Coffee which is a total revamped version with a ton of new features. All the info in every mod is inside every .rar file so read it but it's pretty self explanatory especially for you Starman. Anywho have fun and ill keep updating the main folder I have a bunch of mods that's going to take a while to upload. (My internet sucks) lol

    1. THANKS MATE, i downloaded of all them, i will take a look at them as soon as i can, at first sight it looks like good stuff. I've been busy trying to fix the Outbreak mod, it took a lot of time, but it finally works, the only problem is that to fix it i had to move the superhero mod to its own folder, and this will be a problem cause i had made the mistake of adding to the cheats menus some options to spawn superheros and friends and so all the characters should be loaded to be available when someone uses the gangs cheat menu options or else the game will crash when trying to spawn any superhero or another character from the extras folder. so now i have to do a lot of changes and think about the best way to do the things to avoid crashes. i could remove the superhero options from cheats menu and add some of them to the superheroes cleo script or i could edit the mod launchers to add the superhero mod when launching some mods or could try another things, i have to think about it carefully. The problem with the outbreak mod was that i had added too many characters in the base folder not defined in a .ide file and then the outbreak also uses a lot of characters as zombies, and none of them are declared in a ped.ide file, and so the game was crashing trying to load so many undefined files. I deleted all non used characters from the zombies folder in outbreak but it was not enough, moving all the characters from the superhero mod out from base folder to a new SUPERHERO folder fixed the problem but opened the door to new problems and gave me a lot of new stuff to do to prevent new problems.

    2. Yeah enjoy and I was trying to compile more mods together but it always seems like whenever you fix one another one fucks up that's why I have just been adding textures mostly to my own mods. I had "Left 4 Theft" working but for some reason I added more stuff and now it's broken again. Honestly I suggest for your mod menu to add the marvel heroes to the mods that it works on and have a universal mod menu for the ones that don't like you used have in version 2.5. Or simply spawn them 3 at a time like the other skins. There is probably a glitch with spawning too many ped's in the code. But you know how it goes even if 2 scripts are working on their own put together makes stuff crash. Also everything within the different mod folders might work but stuff in the main menu is still running in the background so there might be something there messing things up too. Any who let me know if you like the mods I uploaded and ill post more once I get them working 100%

Hey Starman, so I have been trying to edit in some music and finally got like 80% done like I know how to extract convert re tag ect but one thing that I don't understand is why some tracks work and others don't. I use Alcis SAAT tool to extract and edit but when I press save it saves normally then I go into the game and only a few tracks work and the rest are the same. My question is what am I doing wrong is every track in a different bit rate? Or what do I have to do to re pack so all my new edited songs come out instead of just a few new ones? Ps: Did you try my mods?

    1. sorry, i've been very busy, havent tried anything yet, i've been building the list of vehicles, taking photos, looking for each vehicle picture, editing, uploading, etc. i also had some troubles to fix in real life, and so i had to stop working in the megamod for a while, but the vehicle list will be finished in the next days. i'm not sure what is the problem you have, but you should know that for each radio station, not every track is music, some are dj chats, weather reports, jingles, calls, etc, which are played randomly, and then there are only a few songs (like from 8 to 12 songs), and each song was divided in several parts, 2 or 3 intros, 1 center part, and 2 or 3 outros, the center part will be played always, but the begining and end of the song where the dj talks will be played randomly, selecting a different intro and outro each time the center part of the song is played. So if you dont know this you may think that some songs are not working, because they are not played always, only some of them, this is done in this way by rockstar games so that the RADIO station sounds different each time. but we are not using this sistem we are not repeating the same beggining and end of the song with different dj chat each time, we are replacing all intros and outros with full songs, so that there are more songs playing in each radio station, and the center songs will be played always but the others will be selected randomly (different) everytime the radio station is restarted.

    2. Don't worry about it dude life is bigger than just a video game it's cool and thanks for the info but my problem was with the SAAT software not so much the music. But it's all good I found one with a GUI that worked flawless here is a link to my own mod inspired by yours but with a dirrent twist.
